According to a scientific study, competitive eaters have gotten within nine hotdogs of exceeding human performance limits. The theoretical limit of 84 hotdogs in 10 minutes has been set. Joey “Jaws” Chestnut established the current world record earlier this month with  a score of 75. 84 hotdogs, according to James Smoliga, a sports medicine specialist at High Point University in North Carolina, is “the greatest conceivable limit for a Usain Bolt-type performance.”

Where is Joey Chestnut born?

Joey was born on November 25, 1983, in Vallejo, California, and now lives in San Jose, California. Joey Chestnut’s family is largely unknown. He was reared by his mother alone after his father abandoned him at the age of two. There is no evidence that he had siblings. His ethnicity is American-White and his nationality is American. That same year, during Nathan’s Famous Fourth of July International Hot Dog Eating Contest, he downed 32 dogs, placing third behind Takeru Kobayashi and Sonya Thomas.
• On 24 March 2008, Chestnut set a new record at The Big Texan Steak Ranch restaurant in Amarillo, Texas by eating a meal of 72-ounce ribeye steak, salad, baked potato, shrimp cocktail, and roll in just 8 minutes 52 seconds. On his show on KKLA, Frank Pastore, the previous record holder, congratulated Chestnut.

Chestnut consumed 185 Catalina croquetas in eight minutes, 28.5 canteen sandwiches in 10 minutes, 43 pepperoni rolls in 10 minutes and 52 4-ounce mutton sliders in 10 minutes.
• He used to work in construction management in the early 2010s, but in 2016 that made the switch when he saw the amount of money he could make. He is able to focus completely on competitive eating at this point in his career.
• In 2018, Chestnut competed in The Amazing Race 30 alongside fellow competitive eater Tim Janus. On July 4, Chestnut won his 11th title at Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest with a new record of 74 hot dogs.
• On July 4, 2019, Chestnut won his 12th title at Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, eating 71 hot dogs.
• He won his 13th title at Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest, eating a record-breaking 75 hot dogs and buns in ten minutes on 4th July 2020.
